Acquisition de données complémentaires aux dénombrements, avec les techniques d’analyses pigmentaires et de diversité génétique. Etat d’avancement et premiers résultats. Action Indice Composition. Livrable n° AIV. Rapport final, 16 juillet 2014. ArchiMer
Delmas, Daniel; Siano, Raffaele.
Studies on phytoplankton community diversity cannot be limited microphytoplankton (cells>20 ìm), it is indeed necessary to take into account also the nano (3-20ìm) picophytoplankton (<3 ìm) components. In the frame of this work aimed at studying temporal phytoplankton community diversity two complementary methodologies of phytoplankton sample analysis, pigment and genetic (metarbarcoding) diversity, have been used as alternative to routine morphological analysis carried out at light microscopy. The REPHY station (047-P-016 Concarneau Large) off-shore the Concarneau Bay has been sampled during the annual highest phytoplankton production (March-July 2012) with a frequent sample interval strategy (twice per week). Results obtained by both pigment and...

Planktonic and non-planktonic rotifers in two environments of the Upper Paraná River floodplain, state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil BABT
Bonecker,Cláudia C.; Lansac-Tôha,Fábio A.; Rossa,Dayane C..
Investigations were carried out for the composition and occurrence of rotifer taxa of different forms and sizes during two distinct hydrological periods, in two environments (river and lake). Two sampling stations were established in open water of each environments. Surface samples were taken daily for 14 days. The faunistic similarity between the environments was established using Jaccard's index. One hundred and fourty three taxa were identified. The largest number of taxa was recorded in the river. Faunistic similarity between these environments was greater during high water. The planktonic taxa predominated and the difference for the non-planktonic ones was not marked. Non-planktonic taxa predominated in the river, while both types were numerous in the...

Seasonal variation of stable isotope ratios of size-fractionated zooplankton in the Bay of Marseille (NW Mediterranean Sea) ArchiMer
Banaru, Daniela; Carlotti, Francois; Barani, Aude; Gregori, Gerald; Neffati, Nada; Harmelin-vivien, Mireille.
Stable isotope ratios of six size fractions of zooplankton (80 to >2000 mm) were analyzed seasonally in 2009-2010 at the SOMLIT site in the Bay of Marseille. Isotopic ratios generally increased with zooplankton size. The highest delta N-15 values were observed in the 1000-2000 mm fraction. The largest size class (>2000 mu m), dominated by gelatinous plankton, had lower delta N-15 values due to the low isotopic signatures of most of these organisms. In the larger size fractions (>1000 mu m), isotopic ratios were measured at the taxon level. Brachyuran, stomatopod, teleost and cephalopod larvae showed the highest delta N-15 values, and salps and pteropods the lowest ones. Lower values of both delta C-13 and delta N-15 were recorded in winter and...
